Any 1939 ERMA ERFURT POLICE FLARE GUNS OUT THERE?
Just curious is anyone has a 1939 dated police accepted Erma Erfurt flare gun in their collection. Or has anyone seen and recorded one? If there are any out there it would be in a VERY small serial range of the 3000s and marked E/L. They are missing in my data base between 1938 and 1940.

Reizstoff ammunition for German Police Gas Guns
Dr. Lorenz Scheit's recent excellent book on German flare pistols and ammunition included a section on the German police Reizstoff (Irritant Gas) Pistole and ammunition. Dr. Scheit displayed three cartridges in the ammunition section that conformed to the physical description of Reizstoff ammunition...

Re: New Book on German Flare Guns & Ammo
Brad, is this a translated English version of his German book or an entirely new work? I have the German version.

Re: Why Do You Collect Flare Pistols ??
My interest started in the history of the German police and everything related to that. I started with pistols and long guns, graduated to uniforms and accessories. And as I learned more about the police, much of which I put forth in the article placed on this forum, I found and incorporated flare p...

I have it on my list. I think I sold it to you some years ago, as I had bought a couple 1940s.

Re: List of my German Police marked Flare Pistols.
Very interesting "ayf". Is your Walther marked with the stick wing police acceptance eagle or the full chested eagle? Has anyone seen a ERMA ERFURT 1939 dated pistol with police acceptance?

Re: List of my German Police marked Flare Pistols.
Interesting that #4968 is a "40" date and #5286 is a full date 1940. I was hoping there would be a positive break somewhere in there with a change from 1940 to "40". I have a 1940 Erma at #4136. Your Erma #8834 is stamped on the Hebel and not on the frame where they were normally...

Re: List of my German Police marked Flare Pistols.
There you go Howard, cornering the market. Are you one of the Hunt brothers? : ) I had some of these listed on my data base and some are new. Two questions. Did you sell ERMA P381? I had this one belonging to you. Also, can you verify that ERMA-ERFURT #8834 is E/L? It sticks out like a sore thumb at...
