Re: MANVILLE 3rd Gen. 18 shot Tear Gas Gun in 25mm

Actually, I do not know anything about the weapon, apart from it being one of the last versions of the model 3 Manville. It came to the Netherlands because I imported it  I bought it at the previous auction at Cowan's in Cincinnati and just had it shipped. I took it to our local gunshow and it ...

Re: MANVILLE 3rd Gen. 18 shot Tear Gas Gun in 25mm

I now have one myself. It is the last version of the third model, with the long barrel. In the Netherlands this weapon is considered to be a black powder long gun, therefor does not require a license.

AMO M9

I have a AMP co Projector Pyrotechnic, Hand M9 Marked US property On the latch handle it says SERIAL No. - (so no serial number) Is there any way of dating this flare launcher or, next best thing, finding what period it was produced? Only know it was introduced in 1942. Greetings from Holland, Pilot

Re: Model M

Been a bit quiet on this subject. Signalman, I found on the website of Webley historian Richard Milner that all flareguns with H prefix serial numbers were made between 1951 and 1964. http://www.armsresearch.co.uk/The%20Webley%20and%20Scott%20Achive/Webley%20and%20Scott%20Archive.html Various Signal...

Re: LP34 from 1937 - Inspection marks?

4 in circle is indeed the caliber indication (law of 1939) for smoothbore weapons Just found the wheel and spoke marking in "An encyclopedia of German Tradenames and Trademarks" by Weaver (page 249). It says "Zella-Mehlis, Thüringen (thought to be a location identifier for the proofho...

Re: five barrel volley flaregun?

Did some research. The thing fires the barrels sequentially so it is a repeater, not a volleygun. Furthermore the chambers are 12ga but the barrels are 16ga at the muzzle. Would be a too extreme choke for a shotgun so I am now leaning towards either a primer testing device or a device to fire mace. ...

five barrel volley flaregun?

Hi All, Been away for a while so haven't posted recently. Checked the upcoming Rock Island auction and ran into this thingamajig. Nobody seems to know what it is apart from that it is a five barrel 12 ga affair. Considering the shape of the grip I would say it may be a flaregun or a firestarter. Any...

Re: Turkish Flare Pistol

Considering that the text is in Farsi (presently the language of Iran) one might assume that the gun was produced somewhere in the Khyberpass area (NW Pakistan, East Afghanistan). It may have been based on any of the selfdesigned revolvers they make there. I have seen guns from that area that have d...
