Over many years I have owned several different Remington MarkIIIs. I have handled and have seen dozens more. On the grips of only 2, I have seen the marking RA-P in a rectangle.
I have been told different stories.
Best seems to be that the marking is a rebuilt inspectors mark.
Raritan Arsenal (RA) rebuild only.
