It appears to be a Model 1917, but is not marked Chobert.
What can you tell me about it?

Re: Here is my Flare Gun
Hi,
I'll think that this flare gun not is made by Chobert. They're made by Chouvet St Etienne and your's is made by Grivolat Gerest & Fils Cie. I have both of them, but I'll never seen one made by Chobert. I'll look for some pictures of my flare guns.

I think you are right. The marks appear to be "G.G. & Cie". This flare gun appears to be very similar to the Chobert. Can we talk about value? What might this one be worth?
Re: Here is my Flare Gun
This is an Earlier gun than the 1917 model, and it is in 35mm, not 25mm. I do not know the French Model designation for what you picture, but I am sure it is no earlier than 1914. Does anybody know the true French Model designation for this side extractor flare pistol.
I also have 2 of these, one is G.G. & Cie, the other is unmarked.

Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.
I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Re: Here is my Flare Gun
Hi,
It's the model 1916 and the caliber is 35 mm. See the topic below.
Signalman, your flare gun is probally a Grivolat. They have no big stamps. Most of them are stamped in the nearly direction of the lever for open the barrel.
Best regards

Thank you both.
Where can I find an idea of value? I can find no similar sales on the web.
Thanks in advance!
