Hello I'm looking for information on this 1954 flare gun and grips, as I don't think they match.
thank you.

Hi,
this is a Bulgarian copy of the Soviet Shpagin – Signal Pistol Model 1944. This weapon was designated as Model MBP.

Omar,
the grips appear correct for the Bulgarian flare pistol. My example has the exact same style of grips, with same markings.
If you require replacement grips, they are currently available from Numrich Gun Parts Corp.

My personal opinion is to leave the original grips on the gun. Their used look and "patina" look more appropriate to that gun, rather than replacing with a nicer, new looking pair.

Had one serial number 04981 same year!, and had that "m" symbol on grips, was not sure if these grips were Russian, I'll take your word for it :D

I have two of these, both also dated 1954. Serial numbers are 04977 and 05912. Any idea what factory made these, how many were made, and in what years?
