Hi,
A friend of mine just discovers this leather WWII German flare gun holster.
It has been shorten (certainly for a better LP42 adaptation).
I can understand the transformation and it can have been done during the war.
However, there are some markings I'm really not used to see: cdg and 1943 for a full leather holster and an strange eagle.
Could you please help me and tell me if markings are fakes or if it may be original ?
Thanks in advance

Re: Question about never seen markings on German leather hol
Hi Bruno,
this is an earlier leather holster as far as I can see. An acceptnace stamp from 1943 should not be there, at this time there was Presstoff in use. I have never seen a leather holster from 1943. This does not mean that this is impossible, just my vision on this. I think the whole setup is a bit strange. I have seen (and in my collection) different alterations to holsters, but not shortened this way. The LP42 fits perfectly into the standard holster/lengh as well.....

Hi,
Thanks for your feelings. I've the same one ...
My personal assumption is that a stupid guy add these markings for showing that this original holster is a good German one .. but it makes no sense...
