1889 or 1899 German Submarine Flare Pistols

Post by signalman »

I am trying to assemble a list of the 1889 or 1899 ( date depends on reference book ) German Submarine Flare Pistols.

These are the Brass Double Barrel flare pistols, with or without the belled barrel.

I wish to receive the serial number, manufacturer marking, and date of manufacture. style of barrels, plus any other information you find important.

Please post, or message me if you wish to remain anonymous. Even photo's would be nice.

I will publish this list and then update it every few months or when enough new entries come in.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

These are my 45 year collection of double barrel German Submarine and Navy brass flare pistols. I have one more, a bell barreled version on the way.

I will list my serial numbers and data along with any others I receive. All data will be anonymous.

This IS impressive. But I am not too surprised ;-)

I can not contribute here as I do not own the Sub Versions of WW1.

Thank you all, When I was younger I never thought about serial number lists, and did a lot of reasoning in my head.

I was young and foolish.

Please, if you see any of these variations around anywhere, please record the data and post or message me here.
