Question about belgian flare ammonition pre 1940

Post by hotto »

Does anybody have any information about belgian flare ammunition before the german occupation in 1940. I need information about what Belgium had at this time and about the markings.
Any information about flare guns besides the Hebel would be helpful as well.

Hello Horst,

nice to see you as a member in our forum. There is very little information about the Belgium signal cartridges as you know, but maybe K & K could help us with this question

best

Hi,

The Belgium army used only so far I know cal 4 cartridges (26.5 mm). The picture you show is for me 25 mm cartridge used by the French and Italien army. They have used this cartridge until the years 1950-1960. The Italian flare cartridges have the stamps Ruggieri . The E on the top means " Eclairante " (light cartridge). The Belgium cartridges have the stamps E.H.D. or made in Belgium.
