It appears that you may have a very interesting Cash Captive Bolt Stunner.
It was developed as a humane means to kill cattler.

The manufacturer is Accles and Shelvoke Ltd. They have a long and well know history based in the UK. They are providers of bolt stunners and humane slaughter equipment.
The company also had a history relating to firearms.

I have never seen one exactly the same as yours. Yours is the nicest I have seen. Very nice!

I think Dr.E may be mistaken, what caliber is the pistol.

Dr. Baumgarden in Germany has one of these, and I believe it is a flare pistol.

The maker does in fact make cattle killers, but I do not believe the gun pictured is one of them.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

I am not a betting man but if I were, I'd bet on Signalman.

It's a Mark I, in caliber 1 1/2" Flyers pistol patented in 1934 according to Wolfgangs Book 2 on German flare pistols. Wish I had one !

I did say I would bet on Signalman to be correct and he is. Your piece looks so similar to their cattle killers that I really goofed. Mia Culpa.

I checked my material more carefully and found its patents, with drawings, in Great Britan, Belgum, France and Germany. I have not yet learned how to upload to the forum.

Hotto if you can give me an e- mail address to send to, I will be glad to send the link address for the patent in all four countries.

I still say it is a Great looking piece! :)

Sorry about my error.

Best holiday wishes!
