Flaregun Holster??

Post by ron3350 »

I got this holster in 2004 from USA as a 1" Flaregun Holster.
It has 2 spare loops that do fit the 1" flares nicely but could also be for spare magazines.
The holster fits 1" Mk V and V1 pistols but not a US Sedgley flaregun.
The buckle and stud look military but it has a name: W.G.RUSSELL.

MY question is whether it is a flaregun holster or just some pistol holster?

It looks very nice, does an H&R Mark III fit in it ? ?
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

H&R 111 is too tight at the front swivel and trigger guard and the strap is in the wrong position to go over the grip or hammer.
I did not want to damage the holster but will try other pistols later on.
It fits the British pistols so maybe it is Canadian?
Do you think Russell is the maker or just some owner's name?
