Fake or real Weble&Scott and Webly&Scott ???

Post by Peter »

Hello,

I found these two flare guns for sale on the web:
A Cal.4 "Weble & Scott" and a Cal.4 "Webly & Scott"

To me, these are copies...maybe the first "real" fake flare guns I have seen.

What are you thoughts?

Best regards,
Peter

They are copies, probably Pakistan, Afghan, maybe Chinese, or even from someones basement. Looks too similar, like they came from the same gunmakers
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Interesting, in both cases the name Webley is mis-spelt!
