What is this Krico

This is a picture of a gun I used to own, This example was from gun broker.com.

It is German, and German proofed with the wood grips Branded with a makers mark. I believe it is called " Krico " It is a Black powder muzzle loader.

Wondering if this was a pistol, or Fuse igniter., Powder tester, or fireworks gun, or what. it is patent marked D.R.G.M.

Can anyone help ? ?

I found the grip emblem on a Stoegers Catalog page of rifles which Identified the brand as Krico.

Krico started business as a Gunpowder Company I believe, that is why I think it might be some kind of powder tester where a known charge is put in the chamber, and a metal plate is placed under the end-cap which would be deformed when and if the ignited powder reaches a certain pressure.

I see no other reason for the end cap which screws on.

they are not particularly rare, as i have seen these two, and the one I owned, and must have passed on 3 or 4 in the last year of gun shows before the virus.
