MODEL 1894 CONVERSION FROM 1882

Post by signalman »

This is a Conversion of the 1882 Model U.S. Flare Pistol to the Model 1894 Cal. ( 10 gauge ) by inserting a barrel Liner and adding an Extractor to the 1882. This Conversion was done in 1894 on this pistol.

This Conversion is Numbered #9 on the side, and #2 internally on frame and barrel. The property number is #27

This conversion is quite rare, as are the 1882's. Remember only 100 1882's were manufactured, and so there can be no more than 100 of BOTH this conversion and the 1882's COMBINED.

This is NOT a Model 1894, see my thread picturing a true model 1894.

Since these are the Model 1882s converted, by adding a longer barrel and extractor,
do the grip butts indicate there had been a hole for a lanyard swivel?
May your collection grow and prosper.

Hello Signalman,

Do any conversions from 1882 to 1894 have markings indicating they were once a Model 1882??

Has anyone seen a conversion to 1894 were earlier marking were buffed out?

If anyone has relevant information, please join in.
May your collection grow and prosper.
