no linethrower, but electrical signal rifle, US air force WW2. See here:

This "gun" is an electric signal lamp from WWII and had been used by the U.S.A.F., especially to communicate between B 17 Flying Fortress-bombers during their raids on Germany. Signalling by these guns avoided use of less discreet radiotelephone and could not be noticed by german defence. 4 batteries can be placed inside the wooden stock. The barrel includes a lamp, a buzzer and some kind of diaphragm. The ones I have, had been found in the US. Hard to find in Europe.

I assume this is the 'gun' that was offered for sale at the show in Kassel last week?
