Just to try to participate, some few other pictures of this model used by aircraft people (may be part of the survival kit)
It seems there exist some variation about this model, unfortunately, I haven't find any documentation about it.

Hello, I believe one is the model 913, and the other a 913A, Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are right, the other right is only marked with 'Type 913'.
Now, I have to wonder which one was the first. I would have think the 'A' is because fabrication of '913' model seems to be simplified compared to the '913 A'. But the number on the 913 seems to be lower than the one observed on 913A (I don't know if there is any continuity....).

I just bought one of them and would like more information about what types and what ammo was manufactured, what time in use (one source in the net: already in the 40th...?). What is the correct "name" of the ammo - is it 22x49 or what, is the ammo still available - or was it restricted to military purpose?

Just to 'wake up' this thread, I should be able to get soon two of the original cartridges for that flare gun. Hope it will become real and I would post some pictures of them.

the correct name of this ammo is 22x74. This caliber is the american 10gage. I think this cartridges was restricted to military purpose. The pistol 913 was introduced in the late fifties by the French Air Force. The pistol 913 A followed in 1971. Today, these weapons are no longer used.
