Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Hmm... Just analyzing 2 serials (DE posted by me, and DE which belongs to signalman ) there were at least 16200+ DE LP42's. Not a very small quantity.... Why they are such extremely rare?

During Wartime, things can be destroyed, lost, or captured. It is possible some shipments of flare pistols could have been destroyed, even melted down after the war. They might be in some Soviet or E.Bloc Warehouse waiting to be discovered, or a combination of the above.

I was able to score a qyn example a few weeks ago. The FP has no serial number.

Question to the Forum, what is the scarcity ranking of the qyn, sww and de marked pistols? Up until this thread I was unaware of the de maker.
Thanks for the eduction.

I have had for sure more than 100 LP42 so far. Amongst them a number of qyn, NO de and NO sww. You will run across a qyn sometimes, but almoset NEVER across a de or sww. In my eyes they are a lot scarcer.....

The de is more difficult to find than the SWW.
