This is a picture of my EARLY 1st Variation type 90 Double Barrel. The First Variation is characterized by a unique take open lever with finger recess and serial number on top of the receiver. However, there are many sub-variations to this variation.
My first example pictured is serial #99. Note that it has Wood Checked Grips Only found on early 1st Variations. Serial 99 also only has a single line patent marking.
Serial #99 is the earliest Type 90 double barrel I know of.
