Hi,
Here is the second one that I bought this week ( one of the 8 different ). Normaly one side have a brass grip. This one have two iron grips. Maybe the brass one is changed, but inside the iron grip, it have the same number as the flare gun.

I just picked these two up from an auction. I can't believe my luck!
The one on the left is a 1917 and the one on the right is a 1916 model. The 1917 has sheared sides on the hammer whereas the 1916 does not. The finish on the 1917 is very dark so the image didn't turn out too great on the details.

This is my W&S No1 Mark1with shoulder stock. No 21802.
The stock is the interesting part and is stamped with Indian arsenal markings.
They are Ishapore and Quetta Arsenals where manufacture, repair and upgrades were done.
The two flares are WW1 or early 1920's green-white smoke and an early parachute signal. Both quite scarce.
