Unknown (by myself) flare gun...

Post by BrunoH »

Hi Gentlemen,
A friend of mine has just found this flare gun.
It may be a French one (because of the 'Paris' reference) but looking for Defourny on the web gives me some references to a Belgium gunsmith.
So.. does anybody know this model and / or any info about it ? Civilian model ? military ? period ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards

I have one of these. I believe it is the commercial version of a Model 1918 French.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Hi,

I have two off these flare guns. A black one with a small number ( maybee first type ) . He have no marks, only the number #55.
The lever for open the flare gun is on the right side, and have a lanyard ring. The other have the lever on the left side and no ring.
The second one is also made by Defourny. If you look well, there's a difference between the two flare guns.
I think also it is French ( mod.18 ) civillian type.

Best regards
