This is a very nice example of the 1944 dated Aluminum SLD Navy flare pistol. I have two with the same navy proof that your gun shows. #4849, and #5796.

I also have two manufactured after your pistol also in 1944. These are lacking the Navy Proofs #6618, and #6725.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.


I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !
