H&R Arms co 1871-1986. Bill Gowforth

Post by AlanD »

A new 628 page book on Harrington & Richardson has just been published. The author is Mr W E Goforth who sadly passed away a number of years ago. I did exchange a bit of correspondence with Bill Goforth on British purchases of 1 1/2 inch signal pistols in WW1, which should be included in the book. No doubt other H&R signal pistols are covered. The book is sold through Gun Show Books. www.gunshowbooks.com

My copy arrived yesterday. A bit disappointing as it is really a catalogue of the small arms H&R made with notes on variations, dates etc.

Signal pistols are only given one page, with poor coverage,

That is a shame, I believe there are at least 30 different variations of the H&R flare pistols, and it would have been nice to include many of them in this book.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !
