Rock Island Auction Sturmpistole

Post by AR-50A1 »

I see where Rock Island Auction Company has a sturmpistole in their upcoming premier auction in September http://www.rockislandauction.com/viewit ... 2/lid/3431 . I seem to remember that Howard stated that painted sturmpistole components were not authentic.

Would anyone like to comment on this item and its authenticity?

Thanks for your time.

I can not say for sure if it is ok or not (more probably not, but Signalman is the man to ask for a 100% opinion), but I know for sure that the estimation Price is outrageaous.....14.000 to 22.000 USD for a Sturmpistole is quite a bit I would say. MAke it expensive then it must be original ;-)

Hello, The one on RIA is fake. Both Stock, and Sight are reproductions.

The Sturgess gun had an original sight, and liner, but the stock was fake.

and the Sturgess gun sold for North of 20k, I believe it was 29.9k with buyers penalty.

Good Collecting
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !
