LP 42 breakdown.

Post by stellar »

Hi there.
I am new to Flare gun forum and also new collector.
Yesterday I have bought a LP42 .Upon inspection I told the owner before purchase that the Firing pin was missing.
He had no idea as he is not in to short and long arms .
I was hoping to see a break down of a LP42 on this forum.Looking at my P 08 or broom handle
does me no good lol.
My question is do I forget about making one ??I do own a small lathe...or someone could give me
an idea what this part looks like how it is assembled ,is it free floating or spring controlled, most likely..
Like I said I am new here and maybe there is parts break down posted somewhere just please point me to the right direction.
Thanks
Best regards
Stellar

Thank you very much Her Weiss.
That is fantastic. Now if I only had the dimensions in millimeters of the PIN
that would solve all my problems..well not the ones with my head [ koppf ] LOL
Best regards.
By the way ..what is the small indentation like a drill mark in the pin for?

You might try reaching out to fellow members here, "bergler" in Austria and "Signalman" here in the USA...both are advanced collectors and might have a spare firing pin and spring they can sell you...or perhaps suggest a source.

Be sure to identify the maker code, as there are differences in the firing pins, according to a message I once received from bergler

The LP42 is EUH sn# 020729.
It would be great if one of them saw the post and can chime in..
If not I will contact them.

Danke shoen Herr Weiss.Das ist wunderbar.
That is great photos and I am sure it will help many members...I see they already had a lots of views .
I hate to impose and ask ...but there is one measurement missing.
It would be the Distance of the pin from the End or Beginning so I am able
to drill through the firing pin at the right place and drive the small pin through at the right location..
Sorry ..I feel bad to bother you after all the help you provided.
Thank you very very much .
Best regards
Paul
