Sculler Signal Pistol

Post by Peter »

This is a Sculler Signal Pistol (Federal Laboratories, s/n 197) I bought recently.

I did not find it on the forum yet, so I thought it would be nice to share some pictures with you guys.
They seem to be fairly uncommon, especially here in Europe.

If anyone has any information or background regarding this piece, feel free to post your comments.

Regards
Peter

Hello Peter, Scullers are an interesting US Navy flare pistol. There are two major variations of which yours is the 2nd variation. The first variation has a much thinner grip, and were the lower serial numbers. The Scullers are very limited in production.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !
