I believe it is a No1 Mk5, but with a long barrel. If I am wrong, someone please correct. The long barrel allows it to fire flares, yet can also double as a line thrower. Many of these are found with handles attached, to aid in being a line thrower.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Without the long barell the model is indeed identical to an No1 MK5. The (schermully) line throwing gun is slightly diffrent they have a ticker barrel and handle.

Can this be wartime production? or is this one made for civilian use? also the serialnumber is very low (000207)

Hello,
the one militairia has posted must be a No 2 MK I; I bought mine more than
30 years ago from former Major Christensen.
