British Line-Thrower Pistol
A new item from a dealer. It is the small size 32mm barrel/ 28mm bore based on the No1 Mk5 pressed steel frame pistols. No marks except serial No and a ^ arrow on the frame. M601 for Molins on the hammer. Silvery finish in good condition. I hope it did not have a top handle removed. 430mm overall. 3...

Re: Large Collection Flare Guns For Sale now listed
I thank you both for this information. I have not seen No3 Mk1* on a pistol before. Makes sense for a modification.
Note that mine is dated 1941 Serial No.79297 so before 1942.

Re: Large Collection Flare Guns For Sale now listed
signalman I bought Lot 75174 W&S 1.5" No3 Mk1 with safety via a dealer who was also successful with bids. An expensive process to import with fees etc and the price doubles when landed. I ask how to ID it as a W&S when it is not marked with a maker.? Did only W&S make this model ? C...

Re: why cardboard?
The E Green single star flare had a steel base and an aluminium covered paper case. I think the E was a different flare compound to the ones from 1940-43? dbc is filled by Felix Deichmann Feuerwerkslaboratorien, Velten/Mark. If dbc is on the headstamp they also made the case. Should have a green pap...

Re: Japanese 28mm Flare Signals.
Yes I was lucky. The person I bought a 3 barrel Japanese pistol from ,with a holster, found these 3 cartridges in the chambers. Fired caps and empty but a very lucky find. I paid an extra premium , much to the seller's surprise. This was 5 years ago now and importing any ammo or flares is nearly impo...
