Has anyone seen one like this before? I do not know if it is even a line thrower or made by Shermully.

It does not belong to me but is located in Australia. It appears to have been sleeved.

I can not read the writing on the gun, but it surely can be a schermuly. But I doubt that this is a linethrower....looks more like a shotgun to me? The linethrowers I know do have a second handrest or handle, and defitately look different. I think this is a conversion to fire something else...

What caliber? ? If one inch or even 10 ga. I would guess it is either a flare pistol, or a conversion to line thrower.

If 12 gauge, it could also have been altered to fire a shot shell.

What serial number ?
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

It originally was meant to be a line thrower. It never had a grip handle attached or it was removed.

The patent was GB late thirties and 1940 US.

12 guage - Was a civilian project or a commercial prototype.
May your collection grow and prosper.
