Hi Bill, This is a nice flare pistol, Can you show a close up of the markings, as the photo's are quite small. Or can you tell us the date and serial number, and any unusual features ??
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Hello Signalman,
it is from 1940 and has the serial number 1563.
The estimated total production of SL pistols is 3.300.
Only as an example, in 1936 = 770 pistols were produced and in 1944 still = 350 pistols were made.
best wishes from

Interesting!

What are the first and last years of production? 1936 and 1945?
What are the lowest and highest serial numbers? 1 and 3300?
What are the lowest and highest serial numbers per year of production?
