Capture Papers

Very hard to find Flare Guns with serial numbers on the capture papers. Here is one I have been looking for because I like papered guns

When US GI's were coming home from WWII they were required to have papers signed by an officer to allow them to bring back guns. In many cases the papers were never checked and guns were also brought back in duffle bags without papers.

It is possible in some cases to track the vet down with his serial number from the National Archives but many of those records were lost in a big fire a long time ago.

The practice of allowing GI's to bring back firearms from war zones ended with the GCA of 1968 which required an import license and placed restrictions on what types of guns could be exported to the USA.

Any idea what an unmolested VG condition 1938 Erma Erfurt, complete with VG holster, cleaning rod and verified capture paper (1945) might be worth? It has the old German eagle and two more nazi eagle stamps & other proof marks. I have pics but need to figure out how to make the file size smaller to post them. I'm just looking for a ballpark number. A local LGS took it in on a bulk purchase of firearms. No one knows what it's worth so I figured I'd offer $150 based on what I've seen online.
