hello i came across a yugo m57 with bakelite grips and i am intrested in how rare/common they are? most of them have the classic black plastic grips that are also seen on the m53,m56,m70...etc ive seen alot of M57 but never one with bakelite grips, and this one also has alot of inspection stamps (17) any info is welcome, this specific flare gun was surplused by the slovenian army not so long ago and i removed the cosmoline.

Can't be very common. Like you, all the M57s I have seen have black plastic grip panels. What is the serial number on the one with bakelite grip panels?

I have bought and sold about 150 M57 Yugo flare pistols. In my estimation, the bakelite grips are on about 10% of the ones I came across, so less common, but not rare. I never paid much attention to serial number ranges. I saved one of each type grip for my collection and checked, the serial number is 2752 on the bakelite gripped one, which would imply early production.

here is the picture, no numbers on grips but the last 3 numbers of the serial number are repeated under the grips on the frame

Blade - if you don't mind sharing, what is the entire serial number of your M57 with the bakelite grip panels?

Serial number 2752. I have bought and sold many Yugo M57 and saw several with bakelite grips over the years. Less common, but not rare.
