Einspannklaue and Baumschraube for flare gun.

Post by Replace »

Hi,

This set was found in a german bunker at the Pitomnik airfield at Stalingrad(Volgograd) this summer.
...the largest of the German airfields at Stalingrad.

The Baumschraube looks to be the one for Scherenfernrohr.

I have never seen a “head”(the alu-part) like this.
...perhaps fieldmade during the war in Stalingrad – they were short on supply/equipment at the end.
...you can clearly see deap corrosion-scars on the head.
...and in the hole(einspannklaue) you can see, where the head has leftover some of the aluminium material.

...so perhaps they needed a Baumschraube for the (einspannklaue) – and therefore used the different parts they got already.

The "einspannklaue" is marked Walther 19**.
...the flare gun added is a KM Walther.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Regards
