Flare Gun Forum

Picked this up for $260. Don't have the flares with me, as the person wasn't willing to ship them, but was kind enough to drop them off at a relative's. Pretty poor shape, with the gun having some rust on it (but still functional) and the box having a slight crack in the side. Rust is mainly concentrated on the barrel. Not very familiar with American flare guns, so not too sure on how to properly remove the barrel. I assume the bigger screw is the pivot, but mine is stuck fast.

Despite the condition, you still did well. The flares alone are worth more than you paid.

I believe the case is Vietnam-era.

Very nice. I have not seen a cased set like this before.

Got the flares today. They appeared to be in great condition.

4 double star tracer shells made in Sept 1953:

3 single star shells made in Aug 1951:

1 double star tracer shell made in Feb 1944. Made of cardboard and zinc(?) rather than aluminum. A bit odd to see a WWII shell in the same kit with all the Korean war era shells.
