My Z is not painted white. Should I paint it white or were some pistols left as black finish. My pistol does not look re-finished but I assumed it should be white filled-in for the Z.?

I forgot that my Z Kampfpistole was made by ERMA but will reply here.

I see a bit of white paint inside the Z on close inspection it was originally painted white.
It was a long time since I last checked the maker and maybe I should not have posted this query.
The dial sight is original and not a reproduction. It cost almost the price of a normal alloy flaregun.

Hi,
Initially, I had read that the letter Z was painted with a luminescent paint, but over time, it may have been removed or degraded.
