OSP30 flare gun

OSP30 flare gun (Osvetitelnuj signalnyj pistolet\Light signal pistol mod 1930) is modernized version of SP26. It was also produced on Izhevsk gun factory. Production was stoped in 1944.
Usualy have Izhevsk factory marking on the top of the barrel. There 2 types of serial number - with letter prefix (after 1938) and without (before 1938)
Lenght 257 mm
weight 960 gr

Modifications :
OSP 30 with brass frame. It is belived that it was produced for marine

OSP30 with double barrel.
I never saw it alive, but it is discribed in reference book for criminal experts in Ukraine

OSP30 with simplified lanyard ring. It was produced in 1943-1944.

Hi Ratnik,

very good posts you make, thanks! Russian flare pistols are very interesting. Here is my example of the Model30 with brass frame.......very good quality, even when it is made in 1944! About being from Navy.......a myth or mabe true?

I also have some doubts. Because it's logical to made all flare gun from brass, not only frame.
But I saw only brass frames...

..but on the other hand, why would you make flare guns in 1944 partially with brass, when even the Model 43 and 44 with stamped iron are available? Much too expensive, and teh material much too rare....
