Large Belgium flare pistol, for trip flares.

Post by signalman »

This is a Large Belgium flare Pistol. It was made to attach to a tree, and use as a trip flare. Most likely WWI, but could also be WWII ??

The Webley Mark III is in the picture for scale.

I have a very small version of the same trip flare, but it appears more modern. I will try to find it to post a photo in the future.

Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Hi,

I think it is a cannon against poachers in the forest by a castle. I have a lot of them in my collection. The most are made in Belgium and France. The cannons in my collection have a smaller caliber.
