Weidman Bemelmans is gone

Dear collecors,

with great surprise and grief I got a message today that Weidman, the initiator of this great site and flare gun enthusiast like us all, is gone. The circumstances of his death are not known to me yet. I am quite shocked as I mailed with him last week and he was a young and healthy chap. I am very sorry that we lost one good and initiative comerade in collectors terms. This I wanted to let you know and share.

My condolences to his family and his friends of whom there are many. This is really a shocker !
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.


I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

I am deeply shocked, as I heared that message today and I am very sad about it. Its a tragedy and I am sad with his family too.

Hello friends,

When I open this morning my e-mail box, i'll see the bad news. I was really shocked. My condolences to the family of Weidman. I'll never forget what Weidman have done for me a few months ago, when I have a bad time.
I'll go monday to the funeral for support the fammily of Weidman.
Thank you Weidman for all what you have done for us ( the flare gun collectors )

This is very sad news. I am very grateful to him for this great website he created. I hope this site will survive his death, will remain active and convivial as he designed it and that we and future users will not forget what we owe him. My condolences to his family and friends.
