LP42 Austrian Police

Post by bergler »

Hi,
I got this very interesting LP42 conversion from the Austrian police. It is pictured in Wolfgang Kern´s Book, Part1 (not my example, but same). The Austrian police used the Lp42 and LP34 post-war for anti-riot guns, to fire teargas ammo in Cal.4 (26,5 mm). They went several different ways in their conversions. Just yesterday I have seen an LP34 that was altered in a very different (and VERY expensive) way. This example has the bayonet mechanism of the normal K98 bayonet attached to gun and stock so that the stock can be removed by pressing the button from the bayonets end. The barrel is extended and bears a sight for aiming. Qute interesting done. I hope you like it ;-)
Cheers,
Bergler

Hi ;)
Thanks for the pictures. Never seen such flare gun here in France.
It may need a special holster, isn't ?

Very nice example, I was aware of these, but never got the chance to own one.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

There was no holster....the gun is too big and was not carried like a gun. I should have taken pics yesterday from the lp34.....
