unknow WW II flare gun

Hello all !
Take a look this flare gun was found at please were wehrmacht 5 panzer division capitulated.
I think it's field made, doesn't look look factory made.

It reminds me of a Polish flare pistol I own. I will try to dig it out and compare it to your picture.
Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.


I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !
