Hello fellow collectors,

I was told that this is an early type flare gun, is this correct?

It is obviously a German percussion type pistol, is stamped "TRICO / KRIEGESKORTE & Co. / STUTTGART-H / D.R.G.M. and has a threaded barrel-end.

Any information regarding this piece is welcome (including value).

Hello, It is not a flare pistol, I believe it to be a parlor pistol or even a cane gun.

It probably had an extension barrel on it. I have owned at least 2 of these over the years, and have seen a number of others and all of them marked like yours. I never saw an extension barrel.

My questions when I owned them were the same as yours.

They are not rare, and they are difficult to sell, and with the barrel extension missing as they all seem to have, I paid $150 and 175 for the two I owned, and sold them for $250 in USA dollars. The last one I owned was sold about 8 years ago. I do not want another, as I carried them a long time.

My guess is that in Europe especially Germany they may go for more, as it is a part of their history.

Now I have a bit of an idea of the value.
I paid just over 100 Euros for it, so I believe it is not a bargain, nor a rip-off.

As I am a beginning Flare Gun collector (about 5 years, approx. 65 pieces), you will probably see more questions from me on the forum in the future. Hopefully, your extensive knowledge can help me (and all of us) for many more years to come.
