I acquired a nice M-9 Hand Projector this week and I have a question about who manufactured it. It is marked "G.R.B.CO". In his book, Gaynor only notes the Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Company as a maker. A google search came up empty. Who is the G.R.B. Company?

They were also manufactured by Federal Labs, General Protective Lab, and some are unmarked, so the maker is unknown.

The 10 gauge Mk 4 and Mk 3 were also manufactured by more than just Eureka Vacuum.

Mr. Gaynors book is an excellent 1st book on USA flareguns, however there are many models and makers that were not known to him at the time of publishing. Future books and forums like this will bring out more information and lead to improved books.

Hello All, this is my first post here.

G.R.B Co. is actually Grand Rapids Brass Co.
A.M.P. Co. is All Metal Products Co.

Eureka Vacuum was a mess in its production facilities and lagged in production schedules, and to supplement, Army Ord directed that all assembly and manufacturer be transferred to Grand Rapids until completion of the Eureka contracts. Once Grand Rapids accomplished that, all manufacture was then done by All Metal Products until M9 contracts were cancelled in 1945.
The same situation occurred with the AN-M8, when all assembly and manufacture was transferred to McInnery Spring and Wire.
