Thank you Bruno, you also have an unusual number recorded. 015 ? Erma Erfurt, Are you positive on that number ? ? I am still looking for a consecutive number to one of my 25 kampfpistole. It is a game I am playing with myself.

And I just bought ayf42, serial no. 1a (see attached picture).
Any comments on the serial number of this one?

I love the serial number, the first one with the " a " suffix.

An interesting question though, is it the 10,000 th ayf/42 produced, or the 10,001.

I believe it is the 10,000th, because I never heard of a 5 digit military series Heer model. ( yes, I know some were acquired from commercial series that have 5 digits ) I also own a steel Walther Kampfpistole that was constructed on the commercial line and has a large 5 digit number.
