Sorry, that stamp is new to me.

I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Perhaps it's some inspector, doubt if it's applied to show ownership. I'll have to look at my example to see if something is present. If Signalman hasn't seen the mark before then I'd say it's very uncommon.
