Guns have only two enemies, rust and politicians.
I am still looking for ANY information regarding the European Use of the Original Costons flares from 1859 through 1881. Photo's, Patents, contracts & orders, ANY INFORMATION IS NEEDED ! !

Re: 43 M.V. Flare Pistol - Russian or ??
Hungarian M43 flare gun. I have the same with same stampings (M.V.), but there are other examples where there is only the serial number. If needed I look for the meaning of M.V.

Re: 43 M.V. Flare Pistol - Hungarian
Here is my hungarian 43M, whereby I have seen some others for sale around here. It seems that this is not a common find, but here we are at the border to Hungary so there is sometimes one for sale, but mostly in not good condition. Overall production numers were a bit over 5000, so the one shown here should be one of the last. It has the hungarian acceptance stamp as well.
The M.V. .......M is always behind the year, and V means Vilagitopisztoly which translate to "flare pistol". That is all I know and found.
