Here are photo's of my Navy marked M2. Note the SN is "N410" Inspector is "G.H.B.", different form my ORD. marked example that is "F.A.M.". Comments welcome! Hope you find this example interesting. I'm new here and find it very interesting, Thanks to all who have posted info.

Down side of this example is that the obverse grip is broken, anybody have one for sale?

That is a new one on me, The early inspectors mark on the non-navy model is FFR, and the common inspector is FAM as you say.

I do not recall ever seeing a navy marked M-2

If one comes up for sale, I would be interested in purchasing one.

Signalman, My oh My!, If it is an new on on you, I would take that as being quite rare! I did a Signal Gun exhibit a few years ago and bought this one while I was planning it. Since then I picked up a "normal" marked one, I photographed it in the box in the other thread. Tipp City OH., is only about an hours drive from me, I wonder if they have a local Historical Society or musuem with info about the Company?

Here are the addresses on 2 of my early M-2's One is inspected by FFR I think only 500 to 1000 pistols were inspected by FFR. Mine is serial # 921

The other was inspected by GHB. I Guess that only about 500 or so pistols were inspected by GHB. Note that the two GHB pistols I have seen, have serial numbers prefixed by an "N" which I am guessing is Navy. Mine is serial # 143 with NO navy anchor. Brian Keiths is serial number #410 and has the Navy anchor proof.

Also my GHB inspected M-2 is nickel plated, and I have seen a good number of Brass USA flareguns Nickeled, probably to keep them from turning green. I do not know if that was a factory option.

Here is another M-2 I purchased just recently. It is the one on the left in the photo's. Notice the different shape of the loading gate. Also notice the use of 4 screws instead of 2 on the back of the pistol.

I am not sure if this is a prototype M-2, or preproduction version. It has no markings other than the standard Driggs Faber System - International Flare Signal Co. grips, and no serial number.

By the way, Congratulations to US ( members of the flaregun forum ) for recruiting over 100 members in the forum, and at least half of us have contributed some information for each other.

This is an M-2 that was reworked for commercial ? sale by Kilgore.

Note that the grips have had the Driggs Faber marking removed from the shield, and that the plastic grip was Branded by Kilgores new address.

Serial number is on the front grip strap and begins with a "K" for Kilgore.
